2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS: A Video Profile
The past couple of months, I’ve reserved Monday posts for “Prestigious Sounds,” which highlights the unique exhaust noise of both Porsche and Audi vehicles. This week, though, I’d like to diverge slightly from that formula. Instead, I want to present two terrific videos of the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which, in fact, made an appearance on Monday morning once before. With 500 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds the GT3 RS is a top-notch sports car with a design to match. With specs like this, it’s no wonder we have featured this vehicle more than once.
This morning’s first clip features an introduction by Brendon Hartley, who is a Porsche LMP1 factory-driver. Although the first couple of minutes play a bit cheeky (with Hartley filming on his smartphone), the video soon transitions into a track shoot, followed by a road shoot, and concludes with another road shoot. All three driving segments contain some ridiculous exterior shots. I particularly enjoy the overhead angles captured at the 13:09 and 13:45 marks, respectively:
