Porsche 918 vs. LaFerrari vs. McLaren P1: The Holy Trinity

Often referred to by car enthusiasts as the “Holy Trinity,” the Porsche 918 Spyder, the McLaren P1, and the LaFerrari are three of the most impressive hypercars in the world. Until recently, the manufacturers of these vehicles would not sanction a group test/race. In the below video, though, you can watch an episode of Chris Harris on Cars in which the host test drives each of the vehicles with the manufacturers’ consent and assistance.

For the final scene, racing legends Tiff Needell and Marino Franchitti join Harris in a head-to-head-to-head event. What’s wonderful about this video (in addition to witnessing these amazing vehicles in action), though, is watching the childlike exuberance that three grown man exude while driving these cars; it is a testament to the superior engineering and raw power all of these vehicles possess. Even if you’re not a “car person,” it’s difficult not to get excited about these beautiful machines.

While all three vehicles have their selling points, the Porsche 918 Spyder is a truly revolutionary car in that it employs multiple power sources (both combustion and electric engines) and four wheel-drive to offer an unparalleled driving experience. If you’re interested in the engineering particulars of the 918, watch the below, hype video that Porsche produced last year:

Earlier this year, Prestige Imports was lucky enough to have a Porsche 918 Spyder on our lot. While we longer have the vehicle in stock, we do have plenty of gorgeous Porsches in our inventory.
