A comparison between an Audi R8 V10 Plus vs Porsche 911 Turbo S may seem a little bit ridiculous. If you have the money to purchase either car, you’re going to own an amazing, envy-inducing vehicle regardless of which one you choose.

Of course, commonsense sentiments such as that don’t make interesting car videos or blog posts. So rather than bore you with realities that are banal to car freaks with deep pockets, Auto Express decide to pit these two cars against one another in the following video:

The Porsche wins the drag race; but the host of the program still believes the Audi to be the superior choice. While the R8 doesn’t accelerate as quickly as the 911, it sounds more burly due to the fact that it’s V10 engine is naturally-aspirated (whereas the 911, obviously, is turbo-charged). Likewise, the host prefers the looks and the handling of the Audi. While “looks,” to some extent, are in the eye of the beholder, a vehicle’s quality should most definitely not be measured in track times alone.

Of course, I would be remiss in my duties as a blogger and viewer of this video if I did not acknowledge the sputtering noises the host makes around the 7:54 mark. What the what? In his defense, though, he does use the word “bonkers” twice, in rapid succession–so that’s definite bonus points when it comes to rating a car show host (but maybe not enough bonus points to counteract the negative points garnered from said mouth sounds).
