Winter Driving Event 2015: A Prestigious Customer Appreciation Event

On January 3rd and 4th of 2015, Prestige Imports hosted our 4th Annual Winter Driving Event on Georgetown Lake in Georgetown, CO.
Due to the popularity of this customer appreciation event, we decided to break it up into four sessions over the course of two days. This allowed for twice as many drivers to get onto the ice without the fatigue that can accompany a full day out on a frozen lake in freezing temperatures. The driving sessions were filled by lottery, with over 300 people entered for the 105 available slots. New for 2015, the Sunday morning session was geared specifically towards new drivers (teens) and their parents. This special session provided an incredible opportunity for the more inexperienced drivers to really hone their skills in an extremely low traction environment.
Each of the winter driving event sessions began with a nice warm meal at the Alpine Restaurant and Bar in Georgetown, CO. The meal was followed by a classroom driver education and safety session taught by instructors from qClub North America.
Immediately following the classroom instruction session, the entire group of drivers and instructors made the short drive to Georgetown Lake and staged their vehicles on the ice. This was followed be a brief drivers’ meeting to run-down the specifics of the courses that were laid out on the ice. Following the meeting, all drivers proceeded on a parade lap of their respective courses. Finally, the tracks were hot (or at least as hot as a frozen lake can get), and the drivers began to “tear up the ice”.
All participants in the event were free to have an instructor join them for some personal instruction to ensure that they were handling their vehicles properly. After a few runs, everyone was also free to move to the alternate course and test their skills on a different set of challenges.
Each of the driving sessions provided around 3 hours of time on the ice – plenty of time to get familiarized with the capabilities of your vehicle and also to test out the various vehicles that Prestige Imports provided. Additionally, many of the driving instructors were giving rides in their older Audi vehicles that were equipped with aggressively studded snow tires. It is truly amazing how much of a difference these tires make. Prestige Imports GM, Justin Adis, was also giving rides in our vintage Audi quattro Coupe – equipped with studded snow tires. The quattro Coupe was a trendsetting vehicle that really shines when driven on the ice, and participants were lined up for the chance to go for a ride.
The winter driving event is one of four customer appreciation events that we host every year. Would you like to be on the list for next year? If so, be sure to have your Sales Person, Service Advisor or Parts Representative verify that we have your email address on file and that you are not “opted-out” of receiving emails from us. All of our event invitations are sent to our customers via email, so if you aren’t on our list, you’ll be missing out on all the fun!
