Porsche vehicles have a well earned reputation for providing a singular driving experience craved by automobile enthusiasts everywhere. However, when your Porsche vehicle is involved in a collision, only the most exacting repair and reconstructive techniques and materials can assure that your “Porsche Perfect” driving experience is not diminished.
As a certified Porsche body shop, Prestige Imports has the workspace, tools, equipment and technical information necessary to perform repairs exactly as specified by Porsche AG in their workshop manual. We are committed to meeting all Porsche Cars North America, Inc. standards through required ongoing industry education, Porsche in-house training, and annual certifications.
Knowledge & Skill
To achieve our status as an approved Porsche body shop, we have a team of Porsche specific technicians who have earned I-CAR Platinum Recognition.
- I-CAR Platinum Recognition
- I-CAR (The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education to the collision repair industry, ensuring proper repairs. The industry-recognized Platinum™ designation is given to collision repair professionals who achieve and maintain high levels of role-relevant training that contributes to complete, safe and quality repairs. Training to Platinum keeps professionals current on vehicle technology, improves their job performance and assists with their career development.
Porsche Specific Training
In addition to collision center industry certifications, the Prestige Imports Collision Center has undergone extensive Porsche-specific training ensuring we are up to date on all the newest Porsche technology. In fact, Porsche technicians are trained in factory-approved procedures that help produce safer repairs and may get you back on the road in less time.
Porsche Specific Repair Information
As an approved Porsche body shop, we have exclusive access to service and repair information straight from Porsche AG. A requirement of Porsche certification is that the Workshop Manual is used and adhered to for all Porsche vehicle repairs. In fact, Porsche Cars North America requires our technicians to have their own device (laptops, iPad, etc.) capable of accessing the Workshop Manual at any time. This manual includes both mechanical and collision repair information for every vintage and every model of Porsche vehicle.
Tools and Equipment
Every vehicle manufacturer has specialized tools and equipment that are absolutely necessary for proper repair. Porsche is no exception. As an approved Porsche body shop, we have made extensive investments in Porsche specified tooling to help ensure that our technical staff has the right tools for every repair, and we have been thoroughly trained to use this equipment.
Facility Standards
Porsche certification entails an annual facility inspection. As such, our Porsche certified collision repair center maintains a clean and professional customer lounge for our guests. Also, we are required to provide a safe and efficient work space, inside and outside the shop, for our technicians and estimators.
Customer Satisfaction System
The Prestige Imports Collision Center is committed to customer satisfaction. Porsche Cars North America monitors this commitment through a customer satisfaction survey system. The system ensures that we are meeting the needs of our customers and living up to the standards set by Porsche.
Porsche Body Shop – Annual Inspection and Certification
Porsche approval is not a one-time deal. Porsche Cars North America annually inspects our facility to verify proper equipment, cleanliness, overall shop operation, and technician training. In fact, our initial and renewal audits are the same … everything is checked.
We believe that overall, our program is the toughest in the industry. The process is lengthy, especially in terms of the training and certifications that are required. However, when a collision center reaches Porsche Approved Collision Center status, they know that they are among the best in the industry.
– Mike Kukavica, collision training instructor for Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
Prestige Imports Uses Only Genuine Porsche Parts
Porsche parts are a perfect match for Porsche cars. This is because Genuine Porsche Parts originate from the development of the cars and are engineered, manufactured and tested to help maintain the original performance of your vehicle. You can be sure that Genuine Porsche Parts will fit precisely and are of superior quality. Genuine Porsche Parts help the Prestige Imports Collision Center deliver short repair times and long-lasting durability. Don’t entrust your safety to sub-standard parts.
As a member of the Porsche Approved Collision Center program, the Prestige Imports Collision Center has access to restricted parts. This includes any aluminum part that is a permanent part of the vehicle’s structure or steel part that is joined to an aluminum part. Porsche Cars North America restricts these parts because repair of aluminum vehicles, although becoming more common, is still so far outside the mainstream that a competent generalist collision center can struggle to perform a repair that maintains the safety and performance characteristics of these vehicles.
Aftermarket Parts: A copy of a copy
Claims that non-OEM parts are “just as good” as genuine Porsche parts should be viewed with deep skepticism. Aftermarket parts do not have to meet Porsche specifications and they are typically created by “reverse engineering” the real parts. There is no requirement that they be built to the same quality standards. The non-OEM parts could use different specifications, materials, or manufacturing methods. Also, aftermarket parts are not required to undergo crash testing to ensure their performance with your Porsche vehicle’s safety systems.
It’s Your Porsche and You Do Have a Voice in the Process.
You have an important role in returning your vehicle to its “Porsche Perfect” condition. You have the most vested interest in restoring your vehicle’s look, safety, structural integrity, and performance.
We would suggest that you get involved in the process. Know that you’re allowed to take your Porsche to the repair facility of your choice. Don’t let your insurance company dictate the entire claim process — you have the right to complete your own research and get estimates before you start any repairs. Ask questions. Learn your rights. And choose an approved Porsche body shop where repairs are made according to Porsche standards and specifications.
